Notes
No account is needed for the product lookup. Open Food Facts data is crowdsourced and available under the Open Database License (ODbL); records can be incomplete or wrong. Do not rely on it alone for allergy or dietary decisions.
- Supply the barcode as a string, preserving leading zeroes. An unknown barcode can return an input error.
- The product name is the page heading and can include the brand and quantity. Nutrition values are the page's text for 100 g or 100 ml, including units;
?means unknown. - The three scores are image URLs, not bare grades: the filename identifies the grade or NOVA group where available. The environmental score is now displayed as Green-Score.
- Fields can be missing. Absence of an allergen field does not mean a product is allergen-free. Search and category or brand listings are not included.
About these operations
Each operation is a request learned from Open Food Facts's own web pages: API Anything replays it over plain HTTP and falls back to a browser when it must. Read them as JSON.
